Did you know that central government has 14 administrative branches with 64 accounting units?
Accounting units consist of performance-managed agencies, under which there are 192 employer agencies. For example, the National Courts Administration is divided into regional employer agencies (district courts, administrative courts and courts of appeal). At the same time, the ELY Centres and TE Offices come under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
In 2020, there were still 65 accounting units. The Construction Establishment of the Finnish Defence Administration, one of the accounting units, was closed down at the end of the year. Defence Properties Finland, an unincorporated state enterprise operating under Senate Properties, was established on 1 January 2021. The Finnish Defence Forces is its most important customer.
